Looking for a food manufacturer or product? Here you can find it.
In the centre of Norway you find the extremely diverse county of Trøndelag, a proud food region ranging from coastal landscapes to cool, dry plains and mountains. Trondheim is the region centre, also known as Norways food capital, surrounded by several smaller towns and many villages.
The region is rich in natural resources, and throughout generations the people of Trøndelag have harvested from both sea and land. Here you find some of the best waters for crayfish, crab, scallops and mussels. Wild game, mushrooms, native plants and herbs are abundant. We hold a unique position in aquaculture and a very stromg agriculture industry throughout the entire region. Trøndelag is also a trailblazer when it comes to producing organic dairy and meat.
Inspired by the Nordic Kitchen Manifesto, Trøndelag was the first region in the world to launch its own food manifesto.
Trondheim is emerging as one of the most interesting culinary destinations in Northern Europe. The city boasts Michelin restaurants, Nordic cuisine and Britannia Hotel, and the 2019 Best Norwegian Chef. Restaurants, food producers, farmers and fishermen are all gearing up to showcase Trøndelag as the official European Region of Gastronomy in 2022.
Once a year, over 225,000 people meet and celebrate the food and drink from the region of Trøndelag. For three days, Trondheim plays host to the Trondheim Food Festival and Trondheim Brewery Festival.
The Trøndelag region is the very heart of Norway. Placed right in the middle, with veins stretching out in every possible direction. From here, you can travel to the wild west. The Arctic north. The deep east. Or the happy south.
